2nd Half 1:26:06
7:30AM start (left Atlanta just after 5AM).  Shan went with me.  Quick stop at Shoney's in Rossville @7:00 to avoid potty
lines.  Easy check-in.

About 50 degrees, calm.  First miles was just right  (6:55).  Was in 10th place through 2.  Started running at 3.  33:22
first 5 miles (now in 6th place).

1:05:59 (32:37 second 5) through 10, which was good, but wasn't looking at my watch (just logging splits).

Was is 5th place at the half (1:26:30).

Usually start my push at 14, but pretty gusty headwinds had moved in.  Got out of the wind around 16 and started
working.  Caught 4th place at 18 (after running a 6:15).  Caught 3rd at 19 (after running a 6:17).  Pressed hard for two
more miles to seal third and work towards 2nd.

1st and second really had a gap on me at 20 (about a mile) and I actually had not really accomplished the full shake
off of 4th place.  Had run a 30 second negative between 10 and 20 (good).  Press hard through 21 (6:20); had a fairly
slow 22 (6:50), compared to the previous 4 (don't really know why) and a ran a 41:03 last 10K (I don't usually break 41
for the last 10K).  Finished with a 2:52:35 and a :25 negative split.

Fun run; didn't look at my watch after mile 1 til 23.  Knew I was sub 2:55 pretty early on, so I was more interested in
place.  1st place broke 2:45; second was in the 2:47s.
